if a resurgent Roger Federer manages to clinch this year’s title, he’ll be the most successful Wimbledon champion ever. He’s currently equal with Pete Sampras, William Renshaw and Serena Williams, all of whom have won the tournament an epic seven times, and if bookies’ favourite Rog claims an eighth title his army of fans will be euphoric. Still, at the time of going to press his greatest rival, crowdpleaser Rafa Nadal, is on blistering form after an unprecedented tenth French Open win and Andy Murray seems to have shaken off his hip injury to stand a good chance of defending his title. Everything’s in place for an unforgettable final – we think we’ll be too nervous to eat our strawberries and cream.
