There were earlier examples, but it was Mamma Mia! that put the jukebox musical on the map. This film transfer of the smash West End hit has all the ABBA songs and a big starry cast to sing them in a sunny Greek location – Julie Walters, Meryl Streep, Colin Firth and Pierce Brosnan among them. A sequel – Here We Go Again (what else?) is due in July next year.
