an­other chance to see co­me­dian and panel-show reg­u­lar Regi­nald D Hunter tak­ing a jour­ney through the south­ern states of Amer­ica (he was born in Al­bany, Ge­or­gia) to trace the his­tory of the re­gion’s mu­sic, which is cen­tral to all Amer­i­can mu­sic. First, he’s in Ten­nes­see and Ken­tucky, where he vis­its Dolly Par­ton theme park Dol­ly­wood, tries moon­shine in Gatlin­burg and finds out about blue­grass in Nashville and min­strel shows in Bard­stown. Reg is a won­der­ful – and hon­est – guide who ini­tially didn’t have high hopes for his visit to the racist South of his youth but on this trip, he con­cedes, ‘I’ve never been so happy to be wrong’.
