Inside the Factory
documentary / 8.00pm / BBC2
Gregg Wallace and Cherry Healey return to uncover the secrets of how more of our favourite products are made, beginning with tea bags. Gregg’s off to the Typhoo factory on the Wirral, which chugs away 24 hours a day to keep up with the nation’s insatiable demand for a cuppa! Cherry, meanwhile, has some surprises in store when she visits a Kenyan tea plantation, and historian Ruth Goodman hops into a tank to find out how soldiers refused to let World War Two get in the way of their daily brew. She also discovers the icky methods unscrupulous Victorian tea manufacturers used to stretch out their goods!
