Women’s Euro
It’s home nations England v Scotland in the Women’s Euro
football / 7.00pm / C4
Although the 2017 Women’s Euro tournament started on Sunday, today is the first match featuring home nations, with England taking on Scotland (k-o 7.45pm) in Utrecht. Hoping to build on their magnificent run in 2015’s World Cup, when they finished third, England captain Steph Houghton and her team have not had much success at European level since 2009, when they were runners-up, although most competitions have seen England drop out in the group stage. This time, England need to be one of the top two in a group also including Spain and Portugal to go through to the knockout rounds. Is this the year for the Lionesses to roar?
