Cards, especially ruthless politician, Claire underwood.
‘I’m really pleased I started playing Connie such a long time ago, because I could have been accused of plagiarism if she had come along after Claire – everyone would think I was copying her!’ laughs Amanda.
‘Claire is just very Connie: they’re both cold, demanding, driven and undeniably feminine. I think what used to happen if you had a strong woman on TV was that she always had to deny her sexuality and her gender to be successful, but that’s not the case with these characters. Claire would definitely give Connie a run for her money.’
