Poldark meets Grantch­ester!

Poldark’s lead­ing lady Eleanor Tom­lin­son and Grantch­ester favourite Mor­ven Christie are join­ing forces in BBC1’S new adap­ta­tion of Agatha Christie’s crime novel Or­deal By In­no­cence.

The three-part drama is penned by Sarah Phelps, who pre­vi­ously adapted the Christie mys­ter­ies And Then There Were None (2015) and The Wit­ness for Pros­e­cu­tion (2016) for BBC1.

Set at Christ­mas in 1954, the story be­gins with the mur­der of a rich woman, whose adopted son is ac­cused of the crime and sent to prison. But when proof of his in­no­cence turns up, the fam­ily refuse to dig up the past…

The cast also in­cludes Love Ac­tu­ally’s Bill Nighy, Down­ton Abbey’s Matthew Goode and Amer­i­can film star Catherine Keener (Be­ing John Malkovich).
