To mark the 200th anniversary of her death, an afternoon with Jane Austen begins with
Becoming jane (1.00pm), starring Anne Hathaway and Julie Walters. Then, at 2.50pm,
My Friend jane meets the super-fans, or Janeites, who revel in every detail of Austen’s novels, life and Regency period. Finally, self-confessed Janeite Lucy Worsley explores the places where the author lived and their influence on her work in jane Austen: Behind Closed Doors (3.20pm). After visiting Jane’s birthplace in Hampshire, Lucy visits stately homes owned by Jane’s wealthier relatives, which inspired pride and prejudice. The jane Austen Book Club, with Emily Blunt, is also showing on Wednesday
