Loosely based on the life of 1930s Hollywood mogul Irving Thalberg, The Last Tycoon was F Scott Fitzgerald’s final work, left unfinished after his death. Matt Bomer stars as hot young producer Monroe Stahr, modelled on Thalberg, who battles his boss and mentor Pat Brady (Kelsey Grammer) for creative control of the studio. Lily Collins plays Brady’s ambitious daughter, who is trying to step out of her father’s shadow.
