Geoff plots to drop the charges against Yasmeen in a bid to get his missus back home…

iggle it’ Geoff isn’t quite so jiggly these days. Now that Yasmeen is on remand for stabbing him, he’s no longer able to control her, and knows only too well that Alya and Sally are ‘getting’ to his wife on the inside and urging her to expose his bullying behaviour.

Having stolen Alya’s phone last week and intercepted a call from Yas to her granddaughter, this week the pensioner knows he must act fast to stop Yasmeen from speaking up in court about the hell he put her through. As his frightened spouse listens in, Geoff declares his love and says he’s willing to drop the charges against her if she agrees to be his wife again.

JGeoff. ‘Alya, especially, is this little worm in Yasmeen’s ear. ‘Each time something goes against him and how he thinks things should be, he feels like he’s losing control, so it becomes imperative for him to regain that control.’

Following the pair’s conversation, Geoff heads to the police station, and explains that he wants to retract his statement and drop all charges.

But he’s told only the Crown Prosecution Service have the authority to make that call.

Back on the cobbles, Alya, Imran, Tim and Faye are baffled by his actions, while Alya is horrified when Yasmeen phones and says it’s surely a sign that Geoff is truly sorry for how he treated her. It feels like all her hard work has been for nothing as she realises

But Alya, it seems, has another ally in her mission to see Geoff gets his just deserts. Yasmeen’s prison friend, Lucie, wants her pal to take control, and, handing her a burner phone, urges her to call up Geoff and show him who’s boss.

Yasmeen accepts the device and nervously dials Geoff’s number. Geoff is shocked to hear her voice, and grabs the chance to try and win her over; promising that things will be different when she comes home, and he’ll seek professional help.

Unsure of what to believe, Yasmeen hangs up. With time to reflect, will she have the strength to realise that, in returning to No.6, she’d be swapping one prison cell for another?
