A fun prequel to Pixar’s 2001 smash hit Monsters, Inc, this takes us back to college days for big, blue furball Sully (John Goodman) and walking eyeball Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal). The duo are there to study scare tactics on human kids (their frights power the Monstropolis), but rub each other the wrong way before becoming firm friends as they compete in the Scare Games. It’s all very entertaining, if not hitting the same highs as the original movie. ★★★★ NP
