Yasmeen has a visit from a woman who makes a shock admission about Geoff

Is this the beginning of Geoff Metcalfe’s downfall? Following Corrie boss Iain Macleod’s promise that viewers are going to find out more about the magician-come-dj’s dark past, this week a woman turns up at the prison to see Yasmeen, and tells the stunned pensioner that she was abused by Geoff, too.

The woman pitches up ahead of Yasmeen’s trial for attempted murder, and shortly after Geoff has used his hospital radio show to try to paint himself as the model of compassion. Making reference to his recent stabbing at the hands of his wife, he tells the world – or, rather, Weatherfield General – that he has forgiven Yasmeen and wants to help her. But it’s not the most thoughtthrough of moves, for it turns out that one of his listeners knows the real Geoff. And she feels compelled to speak out…

Over at the prison, Yasmeen learns that someone from a women’s charity has put in a request to see her. At the meeting, she’s stunned when the lady says she was also subjected to Geoff’s evil behaviour...

After Yasmeen returns to her cell, her pal Lucie – who has also been in an abusive relationship – hands Yas a book on coercive control. Yas then calls Geoff, and tells him she wants to be with him again. But is she playing him at his own game?

‘Yasmeen is looking at other women, and she is learning from conversations with other women who have been in similar positions to herself,’ says Shelley King, who plays her.

The following day, with the trial due to begin, Yasmeen tells

Imran about her surprise visitor. But as the solicitor vows to track the woman down, Yasmeen suddenly collapses.

Back on the cobbles, meanwhile, Ryan notices that a random woman is watching Geoff and Tim as they head out to court. It’s Yasmeen’s visitor, but, of course, Ryan has no idea who she is, nor of her connection to Geoff.

He has little time to dwell on the matter, because word then reaches girlfriend Alya that her gran has been rushed to hospital, having suffered a heart attack.

Will Yasmeen pull through? Or will Geoff’s twisted behaviour send her to an early grave?
