DEADLY showdown

A vicious row between Malone and Will leaves one of them lifeless on the garage floor…

-

Our Emmerdale sources are promising a heated fracas in the garage this week as Will squares up to his arch enemy, DI Malone...

This begs several questions. How will the pair butt heads while staying a metre apart? Who will come out on top? And will this be the zillionth time in soap that someone gets walloped with a monkey wrench?

Will isn’t the only man gunning for Malone. As the drama kicks off on Monday, Cain is wrongly convinced that the corrupt cop is responsible for the hit-and-run on Moira, and promises Harriet that he’s going to wreak revenge.

‘Harriet knows that Cain isn’t the kind of man to sort things out by talking,’ reveals Katherine Dow Blyton, who plays the vicar, ‘and she’s worried that there’s going to be some sort of hideous violence.’

Malone, meanwhile, is focused on matters of the heart. He has been having a steamy affair with Harriet, who he was involved with back in the day when she was an undercover cop, and is reeling from his recent discovery that she and Will are due to get married.

Catching up with the vicar, he tells her that he’s still in love with her, and leaves her floored by suggesting they run away and start a new life together.

‘Malone definitely has feelings for Harriet,’ says Mark Womack, who plays him. ‘Maybe the fact that she’s not available to him because of Will makes him want her more.

‘He’s one of those people that if he can’t have what he wants, he’ll just go out and try to get it.’

Wanting rid of the competition, Malone comes up with a sinister plan. Heading to the garage, he sees Will’s car parked inside and plants a big bag of drugs in the glove compartment; his intention being to set him up and land him in prison, so that he can have Harriet all to himself.

But Will turns up and catches Malone in the act. He’s at the end of his tether with the twisted Scouser, who has manipulated and blackmailed him too many times. A furious row breaks out, and ends with one of the men lying unconscious on the floor.

Is it Will or Malone who has come a cropper? And is the casualty dead or alive?

IF MALONE CAN’T HAVE WHAT HE WANTS, HE’LL GO AND

GET IT
