Let’s nail him... Geoff’s former victim, Elaine, agrees to testify at Yasmeen’s trial

-

laine, the woman who turned up at the prison last week and told Yasmeen that she was also abused by

Geoff, calls into the local gossip shop this week, better known as The Kabin.

Patrons always come out with more than a bag of bonbons to chew on, and in her case, she not only hears about Yasmeen’s heart attack but also learns that Tim believes his father’s account of what happened on that awful night in May – that Yas was an unstable alcoholic who stabbed Geoff in a violent rage.

It saddens the newcomer that Yasmeen nearly died from the stress of her ordeal, while she’s equally despondent to think of Tim being duped by his dad. So she calls Alya and says she will do anything to help her gran, and is prepared to stand up in court and reveal what Geoff put her through.

Alya’s ecstatic. She wants Geoff’s evil behaviour exposed, and for Yasmeen to come home and rebuild her life. Geoff, of course, isn’t quite so thrilled. He’s livid to learn of Elaine’s presence and what she’s been saying about him, and tells Tim it’s all nonsense.

ETim’s support for the pensioner doesn’t waver, and he promises to report Elaine to the police if he sees her again. It’s more frustration for Sally, who suggests to her hubby that Geoff is the one telling lies.

Meanwhile, just as Alya thinks she’s making progress, she realises Elaine is getting cold feet. Meeting her in Speed Daal, she begs her to stick around, arguing that Yasmeen is doomed without her.

Elaine is torn between helping Yasmeen and protecting herself.

What will she decide?
