Collection 7/10 Auspicious indie debut from NYC-based songstress

this debut offering from 19-year-old Sophie allison is a breezy, relaxed and pop-kissed eight tracks that recalls the summer-tinged melodies of Real Estate. there’s an undeniable knack for melody and songcraft that permeates through the record, as on the woozy “Benadryl Dreams” and the quietly anthemic “Death By Chocolate”. Largely it falls into the line of numerous contemporary bands, from Mac DeMarco to Girlpool, that still operate within a distinctly ’90s indie template, but it largely manages to avoid vapid repetition and provides plenty of charm and promise for the future.
