- Newcastle’s premier Kraut-funkrock duo enlists some vocal assists from Field Music and Saint Etienne JASON ANDERSON

Much as the Geordie duo’s hero Klaus Dinger once adopted a poppier guise as La Düsseldorf, Warm Digits have opted to enhance their shoegaze-motorik-disco thing with a few guest vocalists for their engaging third album. While Sarah Cracknell’s appearance in the burbling, Stereolab-like “Growth Of Raindrops” is not so surprising, Wireless World features some more unexpected pleasures, like Field Music’s Peter Brewis getting the chance to imagine he’s in Heaven 17 in 1983 on “End Times”.
