EL CAMINO: A BREAKING BAD MOVIE
NETFLIX 7/10 Overcooked postscript to the epic methamphetamine drama
The disappointing final season of Breaking Bad ended with one of the show’s principal characters dead and the other on the run from recent carnage. This is where
El Camino starts, with long-suffering Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) negotiating digressive flashbacks on his way to a new start in Alaska. Paul is dependably put upon and there’s a fine, valedictory cameo from Hollywood veteran Robert Forster. But the thing seems both overwritten and underwhelming, oddly drained of suspense, a pallid epilogue.
