Denham’s U15s hail pair of hat-trick heroes

-

KATIE Ackerman and Kayleigh Currivan both laid claim to the match-ball as Denham Ladies U15s booked their place in the League Cup semi-final on Sunday.

Both girls hit hat-tricks in an 8-0 success which came hot on the heels of last week’s league win over the same opponents.

Julia Thurauf and player of the match Alkita Rragami also scored in the rout.

The club’s reserves were also League Cup winners against a Northwood side two divisions above them in the pyramid.

In a dramatic game, CharlieLeigh Dixon’s goal had the scores level, before Emma Butler grabbed the winner for Denham in the dying seconds to book their place in the last eight.

The U14s had their shooting boots on in league action, comfortably beating Hemel Hempstead 6-2.

Shania Foley and Niamh Reynolds bagged doubles, while player of the match Slisha Bajwa and Mia Stevenson were also on target.

The senior development team came close to victory against AFC Phoenix, but Kirsty Russell’s late effort rattled the crossbar meaning they had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

The first XI were another side out of luck, losing at home to Norwich despite dominating the game throughout.

The visitors scored with their only two efforts on target, meaning Alissa Down’s longrange strike was scant consolation for probably their best performance of the season.

Elsewhere, the U12s and U10s lost to St Joseph’s and Tottenham respectively.

Meanwhile, Rayyam Murray was West Drayton Explorers’ biggest hot-shot hitting six of the best in the U11 Reds’ 13-3 win over Taplow.

Samuel Sazov weighed in with a hat-trick while Aiden Edwards and Cian Johnson were also on target.

The U14s enjoyed their first win over Boyne Hill in another goal fest. Danny Gnaulati and David Galjak led the way with hat-tricks with Brandon Pritchard and Jack Storey also scoring.

The U10s had sharpshooters of their own, Reece Butler, Ranvier Jamgortre and Godwin Usifo all scoring twice and Louis Bunn and Steely Howell-Burton one apiece in a 9-1 thrashing of Taplow Youth.

The U7 Reds almost matched this feat in beating S4K Sharks 8-1 thanks to doubles from Ruben Lury and Odeiro Brand and one each for Dominic Goncalves, Sean Sheehan, Harry Macfayden and Aleks Kovalenko.

Counterparts the U7 Blues also won handsomely 5-2 against Delaford Colts thanks a brace from Kennedy Kithinji and further strikes by Joshua Onyedum, Hamza Namani and Asanti Rajar.

The U9 Purples also hit five in a victory over Taplow Boys with Nico Martucci and Rokas Baltrusaitis among the goals.

Charlie Penil, Joe Rossiter and Tristan Villacrusis were the boys on the mark for the U9 Reds as they beat Phoenix OB 3-1, while the U8 Blues hit 10 without reply in victory over SFK Wolves.

In other games the U8 Reds drew 0-0 but there were defeats for both the U15s and the U9 Blues.
