Get switched on to first Restart Party

-

HILLINGDON Friends of the Earth has always worked on recycling and the reuse of goods and materials to help save the Earth’s precious resources and reduce waste.

There is a fast growing electronics waste stream and we are therefore thrilled to be a holding our first ever Restart Party as an exciting new event in this year’s Ickenham Festival on Saturday June 11 at Ickenham Library, between noon and 3pm.

Restart Parties are friendly community events where people can bring their small broken electronic or electrical device and learn how to repair it.

It can seem just too complicated to attempt to repair your broken lamp or phone, kettle or computer but with advice from someone with more experience, it becomes easy and fun. Besides saving money and being incredibly satisfying, repair helps the environment by making the most of the resources that go into making electronics and minimising waste.

Everyone is welcome, whether you want to learn how to repair something or if you have repair skills and would like to help others learn to fix their broken devices.

Restart Parties are really enjoyable, like being in a cafe where everyone is working together, and there will be a few refreshments as well to add to the atmosphere.

Our Restart Party will also include a Dr Bike Session. Have you a bike that could be used if you knew what was wrong with it? Dr Bike can help!

You can also have your bicycle checked over to make sure it is in safe condition to be on the road.
