Charged with teen’s murder

-

AN 18-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Lance Walker in Hayes on Monday last week.

Mr Walker, 18, was found by the police with stab wounds in Gled wood Gardens, Hayes, near the junction with Gled wood Drive.

Idris Hassan, of Gled wood Gardens, appeared at the Central Criminal Court on Friday August 19 charged with the killing of Mr Walker.

The victim was treated by paramedics for his injuries but they were unable to save him, and Mr Walker was pronounced dead shortly before 4.40pm.

A witness described on Tuesday last week how she had seen Mr Walker lying in the street with his shirt off and “covered in blood”.

She said the street had been almost empty at the time but her screams had brought other residents out of their houses.

An investigation was carried out by officers from the Homicide and Major Crime Command.

Hassan is next due to enter a plea at the same court on November 18. He was remanded in custody. Three other arrests have been made in connection with Mr Walker’s death.

Mr Walker’s death came less than a fortnight after a young man was stabbed multiple times in Uxbridge town centre in what police described as a “devastating” attack.

Two men aged 20 and 22 were arrested close to the scene, and a third man aged 20 was later arrested after handing himself in at a west London police station.

All three men were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and have been bailed to return to police early next month.
