Wait is finally over for relieved students
Smiles all round for those collecting A level results
THERE were smiling faces at sixth form campuses around west London on Thursday August 18 as nervous students opened their A level results.
In Hillingdon, many students were celebrating exam success including one Ruislip teen who had secured his spot at Oxford University.
Samuel Parritt-Gell, from Queensmead School, will be studying philosophy, politics and economics at Jesus College next year after he scored outstanding grades of two As and an A*.
He said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Queensmead, both the academic and social side, and although I am sad to be leaving I am excited about the next stage of my academic journey.”
Overall at Queensmead, 99 per cent passed their A levels and 55 per cent achieved A* to B grades.
Uxbridge High School were celebrating after 98 per cent of students reached A* to E grades and 40 per cent got marks of A* to B.
The school also received spectacular grades in art with 100 per cent of pupils achieving A* to B.
One of the school’s highest flyers, Sathuson Sivalingarasa was delighted with his A, A, B grades.
The 18-year-old “I’m happy. I worrying last night.
“I’m going for a meal said: was with my celebrate.
“I’m not sure what I want to do yet [as a career].
“I’m keeping an open mind.”
Sathuson will be starting a degree in civil engineering at the University of Surrey at the end of September.
Northwood School also friends to had plenty to cheer about after 100 per cent of students passed in both A level and vocational courses for the third year in a row.
The sixth form at Swakeleys School, in Hillingdon, was also delighted at their results after 20 subjects received 100 per cent A* to C.
Samira Moussom was a highlight for the school after she achieved straight As in psychology, sociology, business studies and French, despite sitting her A levels a year early.
Stockley Academy saw 49 per cent of its students reaching A* to B grades, which is a 12 per cent increase on last year.
