TEARFUL reunions and emotional welcome homes will be featured in a new Channel 4 documentary about arrivals at Heathrow Airport.

Arrivals, the one hour show, will capture the intimate moment thousands of people experience as they pass through the halls of Heathrow’s terminal.

Narrated by Julie Walters, RDF Television West’s programme came to life after the company spent several weeks in the four terminals waiting to capture the varied stories.

More than 1,000 people arrive at the west London travel hub each day, totalling 75 million passengers from 84 countries each year.

Heathrow Filming Manager Rachel Betts said: “Arrivals really captures that ‘Love Actually’ atmosphere that is present in the arrivals hall, abuzz with people waiting for their loved ones.

“We hope viewers will recognise that exciting feeling of being greeted by someone they love and enjoy hearing the varied and interesting stories of the many that do the same every day.”

The heart-breaking stories in Arrivals are told through the eyes of passengers and their waiting loved ones, all uniting under the same roof. From long-lost friendships to newly found romance, it covers the emotional spectrum of seeing familiar faces.

The programme was commissioned by Dom Bird, Head of Formats at Channel 4.

The Executive Producer was Andrew Anderson and Producer and Director was Julie Watson.
