TWO people were hospitalised and four left terrified after a four-man gang broke into a home in Ruislip demanding gold.

Police are appealing for witnesses in an attempt to identify the culprits who threw a piece of concrete at one passer by and sprayed an unknown liquid into the face of another.

Just before 10pm on Thursday last week, the four men forced their way in to a property in Victoria Road in Ruislip Manor through a porch door.

They went from room to room demanding gold from the four terrified occupants of the property, before leaving empty handed.

As the gang fled the premises and got into a getaway car, one spotted a passer-by on a mobile phone and threw a piece of concrete at the man’s head.

The victim, in his late 40s, collapsed on the ground at which point the gang then drove their vehicle on the pavement towards the collapsed man but he was not hit.

The victim needed hospital treatment for his injuries.

Another passer-by was then approached by a member of the gang and sprayed in the face with an unidentified liquid. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged.

Detective constable, James Williamson, from Hillingdon Police said: “This was a terrifying burglary which left two people injured.

“This happened on a main thoroughfare in Ruislip Manor and at this time of night there would have been countless people in the area.

“I would urge anyone who saw anything that may help us trace these men to get in touch.”

Police said all four suspects were wearing dark clothing, woolly hats and had black scarves covering their faces.

They were driving a dark-coloured vehicle.

A spokesman for the Met said: “The investigation is fully active and we’re working on finding them.”

So far there have been no arrests and police enquiries continue.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or contact the burglary squad at Uxbridge Police Station on 020 8246 2112.
