Expect tricks and treats at ‘care o’clock’

BINGO CLUB OFFERING FREE PARTY TO REWARD UNPAID CARERS

-

MECCA Bingo Hayes is to reward the hard work of local carers with a free Halloween party, complete with scarily delicious food, drink and, of course, bingo.

On Saturday October 27 from 6.30pm, an evening has been organised to tie in with the changing of the clocks, which go back one hour at 2am that night.

Dubbed Care O’Clock, the party aims to highlight how little time unpaid carers have for themselves and provides them with an extra free hour thanks to the clock’s change.

Mecca Bingo Hayes created the event as part of its charity partnership with Carers Trust, which works to support unpaid carers across the UK.

Club teams conduct fundraising activity, ranging from events to sporting endeavours and more throughout the year to assist the charity in its important work.

The Hayes club’s free evening falls on the final evening of Halloween promotions, which are running on Sunday and Monday.

As well as their free entertainment, customers and carers will also receive a selection of spooktacular Halloween sweet treats.

What’s more, all attendees can dip their hand into the witch’s cauldron for a trick or treat free prize draw, with the chance to win a trip to Dracula’s castle in Transylvania.

Mohamed Murad, club manager at Mecca Hayes, said: “The team here works tirelessly to support carers and this is one of many activities we take part in to offer them a big thank you for the fantastic work they do.

“Britain’s unpaid carers work incredibly long hours, usually to look after a loved one. We’re looking forward to welcoming local carers to the club and offering them a free evening of welldeserved fun.”

Giles Meyer, chief executive of Carers Trust, said: “Mecca Bingo has been our charity partner for five years and we’re truly appreciative of the tremendous effort its club teams put into helping unpaid carers.

“The Care O’Clock Halloween party is set to be an evening of great fun and I’d encourage any Hayes carer to register for their place at the party.”

Carers who would like to attend the Care O’Clock event can register via their local Carers Trust carers’ service. Details of where to get in touch with them are available on the Carers Trust website at https://carers.org/charityyear-partnerships/rank-cares-parties-2018.

■ Offer limited to 10 carers per club, please book early to avoid disappointment.
