Road trashed yet again as fly-tippers pile up the rubbish

-

AN enormous pile of rubbish was left on a road near Hounslow just one month after the last mound was cleared.

Residents living near Kavsan Place, Cranford, have complained that the pavement is “almost unpassable” due to the rubbish, which has been gradually building up for some weeks.

One resident, Shafick Emmambokus, said Cranford is “being allowed to turn into a cesspit” and called on the local authority to “get tough with those flouting the rules”.

A spokesman for the London Borough of Hounslow (LBH) told the Chronicle & Informer that the pile would be removed by yesterday (Tuesday), four days after it was first reported by Mr Emmambokus, and staff were aware of fly-tipping being a recurring issue in the road.

They said: “Last month, LBH was made aware of an earlier large fly-tipping incident at Kavsan Place that was resolved following the serving of a notice to the landowner to remove waste – as issue was on private land.

“Fly-tipping is an issue across London and the wider UK and it is important that all landowners act to minimise the risk of fly-tipping as well as tackling it in a timely fashion when it does occur.

“Given that this matter has not been resolved as expected following last month’s notice and subsequent clearance, LBH will be looking into the matter with partners and the landowner to understand the cause of the ongoing waste issue at Kavsan Place.

“To assist the landowner while a permanent solution is sought, LBH has since instructed our PFI Service Provider (Hounslow Highways) to clear the current waste at Kavsan Place as a matter of urgency, this will be collected on October 29.”
