Nominate a carer for a break with Revitalise

-

WE’D like to invite your readers to nominate a deserving carer who will be in with the chance of going on a free holiday, while the person they care for comes on a free break with us, Revitalise, through our brandnew Grace Award for Caring.

There are approximately 7.3 million carers in the UK, many among your readers, and this award has been created to recognise and reward those partners, relatives and friends who spend their lives selflessly devoted to caring for their loved ones. I work for Revitalise – an amazing charity that creates holidays for disabled people and carers at Jubilee Lodge in Chigwell, in Essex. Revitalise has two other fully accessible holiday centres in Southampton and Southport.

Carers save the economy £132bn per year, which is more than the NHS budget. The Grace Award for Caring was named not only because it takes grace to care for someone, also because it takes grace to accept care from someone.

That’s why we’re showing our support for carers across the UK, calling for people to nominate a carer they know who truly deserves a break. The campaign is being fronted by television presenter and tennis champion, Sue Barker OBE, who has said: “I am thrilled to be launching this award with Revitalise to give carers the opportunity to go on a well-deserved break while those that they care for enjoy a free holiday with Revitalise. I’m really looking forward to rewarding deserving carers in the UK with the time off they need to relax and recharge.”
