Devastating Bees’ seven wonders

BOSS FRANK PRAISES HIS SIDE’S 10-OUT-OF-10 PERFORMANCE

-

BRENTFORD moved menacingly into seventh place just one point behind the play-off positions as their Championship season burst into life with a 7-0 thrashing of Luton Town.

The win had boss Thomas Frank smiling from ear to ear as he reflected on what he described as a “10-out-10 performance.”

The Bees were 5-0 up at half-time thanks to goals from Bryan Mbeumo (9), Ollie Watkins (28), Mathias Jensen (32) and Josh Dasilva (39 and 45).

Said Benrahma (70 pen) and Dasilva (87 pen) again rounded off a superb display which had Griffin Park rocking.

“It was an outstanding performance in terms of creating chances, scoring goals and giving nothing away,” Frank told Sky Sports. “That must be a 10-out-of -10 performance. I can’t ask for more. Especially the first half when we were extremely good. We moved the ball quick and I think also running in behind we were very aggressive playing with big intensity – that was must be the best first half at Griffin Park for a lot of years.

“We know our front three are really dangerous and round the back we are decent.”

Meanwhile, defender Henrik Dalsgaard has signed a new contract with the club until 2021 – the right back having joined the Bees from Zulte Waregem in 2017. He has made 92 appearances for the club.

The Bees are away to Sheffield Wednesday – victors at Charlton Athletic at the weekend – on Saturday, then host Cardiff City on Wednesday December 11.

Elsewhere in the division, Fulham are third and maintained their fine form with a 2-1 win at Swansea City on Friday night thanks to a double from Aleksandar Mitrovic.

QPR drew 1-1 at Derby County following their 4-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest.
