A FURTHER set of leisure centres will re-open in Ealing from October 5, it has been announced.

Elthorne Sports Centre, Greenford Sports Centre, Perivale Park

Athletics Track, Reynolds Sports Centre and Twyford Sports Centre are on the list of sites to re-open their doors after the first “successful” round of centres reopened in July.

The centres already open, Everyone Active Acton Centre, Dormers Wells and Northolt leisure centres and Southall Sports Centre, will also begin bringing back further activities and programmes.

This includes taking new enrolments for swimming lessons at the Everyone Active centres.

Visitors are being urged to familiarise themselves with the new coronavirus measures and rules that will be in place at the centres before they go, and to book their place ahead of their visit. Councillor Bassam Mafouz, the council’s leisure boss, said: “Swimming lessons are now resuming in some leisure centres and more facilities are due to open next month, so I encourage local people to continue to be safe and responsible when planning a visit.

“We all need to adjust to the new normal and the ongoing measures in place to stop the spread of Covid19.

“Ealing’s facilities will comply with government and public health guidelines to ensure the safety of customers and staff.

“But everyone can play their part by washing their hands, sticking to social distancing and following the new rules.”
