Vegan Camp Out has returned for 2022 — here, we reveal what the event will entail and how you can attend

-

If you haven't yet heard of Vegan Camp Out (where have you been hiding?!), it is the UK's biggest outdoor vegan event. Over three days and nights, there will be camping, talks, live music, afterparties, yoga and meditation classes and the UK's best vegan food. Take it from us — it's an event you do not want to miss out on.

When, where are how?

• When: July 15th — 18th

• Where: Stanford Hall, Leicestershire, UK

• How to buy tickets: vegancampout.co.uk. The ticket includes your camping spot for the whole weekend, and parking passes can be bought from the Vegan Camp Out ticket page along with caravan passes also.

What can we expect?

This year, Vegan Camp Out added an extra day to the festival, so that people can come and get set up on the Friday without having to rush, with entertainment not starting until the Saturday! The event is also being hosted at a new venue, which has much more of a proper ‘festival feel', including woodlands and a lake (which people can swim in!).

Food

Foodies, listen up! There will be 60 incredible food vendors including Purezza, Unity Diner, What The Pitta, Halo Burger, Conscious Candy Co, Wholesome Junkies, DÁPPA, Frost Burgers, Döner Summer,

VFC and One Planet Pizza. Make sure you attend with an empty stomach!

Line-up

The guest list of performers for 2022 is bigger and better than ever. Special guests will include Earthling Ed, actress Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), comedian Simon Amstell, Lucy Watson, Avant-Garde Vegan (Gaz Oakley), rapper JME, Bimini BonBoulash, Matt Pritchard, Macka B, Preacher Lawson, Heather Mills, Nimai Delgado and many more!

What should we bring?

• When it comes to a tent, it's worth spending that little bit extra on the one thing that comes between you and the unpredictable English weather when camping. Split the cost with your friends and get a tent that's comfy and practical. An airbed is that little bit of luxury after a long day of fun too, and remember it gets cold when the sun goes down, so take a few extra layers!

• Bringing earplugs means you are more likely to get a decent night's sleep whenever you decide to call it a night.

• Bring a camping chair to have something comfortable to sit on.

• If there are things that you can leave at home, then do! Avoid leaving your phone, money or other valuables in your tent in the day. You can get portable phone chargers that last you an entire weekend, charging your phone a good four times! When you sleep put your valuables at the bottom of your sleeping bag. Thefts are rare, but it's best to be safe than sorry.

• Not every stall will take card payments and don't rely on a close-by ATM machine either. Plan those pennies in advance and get enough to enjoy yourself.

• Other important camping must-haves that are usually forgotten are the everyday essentials that you don't think about! Toothpaste, hand soap, toothbrush, Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, mirror, hairbrush, baby wipes (eco-friendly ones), toilet roll — just in case the loos happen to run out.

• A raincoat is always a good one to bring in case the rain starts. Speaking of water — a water carrier to keep by your tent is always handy too!

What are Vegan Camp Out's environmental policies?

• All waste produced on-site is recycled.

• All food vendors are 100 per cent plastic-free.

• They have a car share page (GoCarShare), so people can lift share from all around the country, enabling you to reduce your impact on the environment and save yourself some money on transport.
