STONEHENGE VISITORCENTRE TO GET VISITOR CENTRE
ENGLISH Heritage has announced that the visitor centre at Stonehenge is to get its own dedicated visitor centre. The Stonehenge Visitor Centre Visitor Centre will hold an interactive exhibition about the Stonehenge Visitor Centre’s history and construction. There will also be a souvenir shop containing pens, fridge magnets, and cuddly toys in the shape of the Stonehenge Visitor Centre.
“The Stonehenge Visitor Centre has proved immensely popular since opening in December 2013,” said a representative for English Heritage. “It’s proved almost as popular as the henge itself, so we think it is high time that the Stonehenge Visitor Centre received it’s own visitor centre to really enhance the experience of visiting the Visitor Centre.”
And the news of the addition to the Stonehenge site was wel- comed by sightseers. “I think it’s a fantastic idea,” said Stonehenge Visitor Centre enthusiast Simon Busta-Rhymes. “The Stonehenge Visitor Centre is pretty good, but there’s not really that much to do. I mean, yes you can have a look round the exhibition and pop to the shop, but that’s it.”
“If the Visitor Centre had a visitor centre, then you could really make a day of it.”
If successful, it is expected that the Stonehenge Visitor Centre Visitor Centre will get its own dedicated visitor centre by 2020.
