this time of year, when we begin to enjoy the first glorious days of summer, my garden is ablaze with the colours and fragrances of vibrant flowers and the air is filled with birdsong and the buzz of insects. I find this particularly irritating as these creatures played no part whatsoever in the hard work my wife and I put in to maintain our garden.
