Telly wildman admits ‘I’m thinking of giving up drink’

-

DIRTY Sanchez star Matt Pritchard is infamous across the globe for his booze-fuelled antics.

But a year after he apologised to Rocky IV star Dolph Lundgren for peeing on him, the telly wildman has admitted he is considering packing in drinking.

The 43-year-old said he is sick of waking up with hangovers, because he now loves keeping fit.

“It has entered my mind,” he said.

“I have cut fags and gone vegan and I eat really well. But there is one thing I’ve not been able to get rid of and that is booze.

“I really do enjoy a pint. I just don’t like drinking 20 pints any more.

“I like to have a blow-out every once in a while, but not every weekend.”

He said he is now “toying with” the idea of stopping for good.

“I’m serious as well,” the pro-skate- boarder said.

“I would have laughed in their face if someone had told me 10 years ago I would be thinking of giving up.

“There are some people my age who go out drinking all the time.

“But swimming, cycling and running interests me so much more than drinking now.”

Hangovers make him “think I’m losing training days to drinking”.

“When you’re younger it’s OK but as you get older, no,” he said.

“If I get up and go out on a Sunday on a bike ride I come back with a smile and feel positive.

“It’s nice to feel like that instead of feeling like s***.”

Three years ago Pritch quit the cigs. He used to smoke four before he got out of bed.

“Now it said.

“Every time I smell one I’m like, turns my stomach,” he ‘God, I used to smoke those things.’”

He even used to smoke during endurance events.

“When I started doing Ironman events I used to have a cigarette while waiting to jump into the swim.

“People would look at me like I was stupid.”

This weekend he is doing the latest instalment of his £100,000 challenge.

The event is taking place in Avon Tyrell in Hampshire.
