HAVERFORDW­EST secured a sixth victory of the season following a thumping nine wicket triumph at Johnston in Division One of the Pembrokesh­ire Cricket League.

Adam James did most of the damage as Johnston were skittled out for only 78, returning the magnificen­t figures of 5-35, with Simon Williams and Gareth Davies picking up two wickets apiece.

Steve Mills top scored for the hosts with 25, Mikey Jones adding 14 before the visitors took no time in reaching 81-1, Simon Holliday hitting 46 and Ben Field unbeaten on 29.

Bottom side Llanrhian suffered another defeat, going down at home to Lawrenny by 8 wickets.

The home side were dismissed for 89, Rob Williams the Lawrenny star with a superb spell of bowling as he finished with 5-16, while Phil Cole took 3-8. Daf Williams, who scored 35, was the only batsman to offer any resistance as Williams took centre stage.

Lawrenny then knocked off the runs for the loss of just two wickets, Steve Campbell hitting 25.

St Ishmaels also went down at home, losing by five wickets to Neyland who bowled out the home side for 102.

Neyland scored 104-5 in reply, Nick Koomen top scoring with 27, with Henry Durrant unbeaten on 21. Dean John took all five wickets as he finished with the figures of 5-35.

Meanwhile, leaders Cresselly won by 6 wickets at Narberth and Whitland went down to a 7 wicket defeat at home to Carew.
