Double lines on road too narrow to even fit a car
A RE these the most pointless double yellow lines in Wales?
The painted lines, in Cardiff’s Heath Park, have been put in place to prevent motorists from leaving their cars on the shortt stretch of tarmac.
But take a closer look and you can see that the part of the supposed road in question is not even wide enough for a car to drive down, let alone park – standing at around 1.5m, or 5ft, wide.
The road is even narrow enough for five-year-old Joe O’Keefe to be able to lie across almost its full width.
Similarly, only two wheels of a typical hatchback car can fit on the tarmac, which is near the Cardiff Model Engineering Society just off King George V Drive East.
It all begs the question why the yellowll li lines – whichhi h are not newlyl painted – were installed in the first place.
Cardiff council has been proached for a comment.
