THOUSANDS RAISED FOR WIDOW WITH EIGHT KIDS

WELL- WISHERS have rallied around a young widow left to raise her eight children alone.

Cloe Green, 27, lost husband James, 31, suddenly when he died in the night.

His death came just 12 weeks after she had given birth to their youngest child, Elijah.

But now good Samaritans have raised more than £7,000 to help Cloe raise her family alone.

Speaking earlier this week, she said: “It was so sudden and so shocking. To think James won’t be here to see the large family he wanted so much grow up breaks my heart.

“When it happened I wanted to cry — but I looked at those eight little faces all depending on me and I knew I had to do this.

“Nobody can replace James. He loved being a dad so much. I am devastated he was taken from us but pleased he got his wish of us having our eighth baby.”

Cloe has had eight months to come to terms with her husband’s death and survives on the support of her family, with even basic shopping trips costing a small fortune.

She is trying to raise money so her children have a safe garden to play in and has set up a GoFundMe page for donations.

“I am trying to raise money so that my children can have a safe but fun garden to play in,” she said. “We live in a detached bungalow with no other children around us, really. The garden is nowhere near fit for them to play in.

“I would love for them to have a garden they can actually go out in. But with maintaining the property and paying the mortgage, as well as looking after eight children, it is nearimpossible for me to save.”

Three of Cloe’s children suffer from cerebral palsy, making a suitable outside space even more important.

Cloe and James , from Dyffryn Ardudwy, near Porthmadog, had their first child, Leo, when Cloe was just 17. “We had nothing to be ashamed of for wanting a big family,” she said. “We didn’t claim any benefits.”

“While I was a full-time mum, James worked his socks off in a café, slogging every hour possible to provide for us.

“Superdad James never stopped. He’d do the school run, then go to work at the café before picking the kids up. Then he’d sit and play games and read until bed time. He had so much energy.”

More than 260 people have so far donated £7,000 towards Cloe’s £8,000 target.
