Tom Cleeve was in fine form for The Fugies as he racked up 81 runs – with his side posting a target of 227-9 off their 50 overs. But Martin notched a top-score of 61 in reply while Ross Lewis (53) and Jamie Watkins (41) also made useful knocks as Sudbrook got to 230-6 in the final over to seal a dramatic win.

James Morgan turned in a man-ofthe-match performance for Newbridge who claimed an eight-wicket triumph at Blackwood Town.

Callum Herring top-scored with 64 runs for the home side who ended their innings on 238-7 – with Lewis Parfitt and Scott Greaves taking two wickets apiece.

But Morgan stole the show with 80 runs in reply to add to an unbeaten 68 from Parfitt as Newbridge got to 240-2.

David Monk impressed for Chepstow Town who cruised to a seven-wicket success in their clash with basement boys Radyr.

The league’s bottom side elected to bat first after winning the toss and saw Howard Stone notch a top-score of 49 runs before his side were taken out on 141 thanks to three-wicket hauls from Paul Swingwood and Jason Dobbie.

And Monk (55no) struck an unbeaten half-century in reply for Town while Mitch Harris added 43 runs as they sealed victory on 142-3.

Jones top-scored with 78 runs while Glenn (54) also impressed as Aber set a target of 243-8 off their allotted overs.

And it was a tally that proved far too much for the visitors whose chase ended on 158 thanks largely to a four-wicket haul from Matthew Knight.

Pontypridd’s title hopes were dented as they suffered a five-wicket defeat at home to Croesyceiliog.

The hosts batted first and saw Glen Williams (49) fall one run short of a halfcentury as Ponty reached 184 before being bowled out – with Ian Wakefield (525) doing the bulk of the damage.

Tom Keir was in top form in reply for Croesy as he smashed an unbeaten 71 to guide the away side to 186-5 and keep alive his side’s faint title hopes.

Elsewhere, Lewis Morgan (210) thumped a sensational double-century that included 27 fours and eight sixes as his Malpas side (361-3) beat Ponthir (92) by 269 runs in Division Two.
