Star’s ‘dream job’ in Wales comes to an end

-

SHE’S only been in Wales for a few weeks but American star Eva Longoria has enjoyed an epic adventure.

The Desperate Housewives actress has been keeping her fans entertained with a series of Instagram and Snapchat updates documenting her time in Wales filming the BBC drama Decline And Fall.

The 41-year-old Texan filmed in more than 70 locations around the country for the 1920s-set three-part comedy drama, in which she stars alongside comedian Jack Whitehall, TV Poirot actor David Suchet and This Is England’s Stephen Graham.

But now her travels have come to an end and in her final Instagram post before leaving Wales she reveals how much she’s loved her time here.

“Truly a dream job and to h have been able to do it in Wales was icing on the cake!” she says in a post alongside a photo o of herself and Whitehall with director G Guillem Morales.

She adds: “Thanks to the cast and c crew for making me feel so welcomed a and for teaching me some Welsh w words!”

Eva’s adventures began when she posted a photo on Instagram of herself with a (rather oversized) wine bottle in one of Cardiff’s bars.

“Now this is a bottle of wine!” she quipped.

After that she was seen in a video trying to get her tongue around some Welsh words in a Cardiff restaurant before she was chatting about sheep during a car journey. “You’ll never guess where I’m going,” she teased fans in a video she posted online from the backseat of the car taking her to one filming location in Carmarthenshire. “I’ll give you a hint – they drive on the wrong side of the road, love to drink tea and have a funny accent – no, I mean a REALLY funny accent.” She then shouted to her driver, “Jerry, do you guys have your own language?” before having a go at pronouncing words like “diolch” and asking if we have “a lot of sheep” here. She also delivered her verdict on the Welsh weather – “It’s always raining sideways” – and got freaked out at Cardiff Castle. “I’m freaking out that the place is haunted and that he (the castle’s previous owner) comes back for dinner every night,” she said in another video. Eva’s not the only American star to have been soaking up the sights of Wales recently, with Sabrina the Teenage Witch’s Melissa Joan Hart also shooting in Wales – and loving it.
