CWMBRAN Celtic and Caerau Ely maintained their 100 per cent records to stay clear of the pack in the First Division of the Nathaniel Car Sales Welsh League.

Celtic, who top the table on goal difference, overwhelmed Taffs Well 4-0 in Gwent thanks to a brace of goals by Chris Ham and strikes by Josh Ball and Owen Cook.

Penybont, under new manager Rhys Griffiths, look as though they could face a difficult season having collected just one point from three goals. Yesterday promoted Undy Athletic trounced them 4-0.

Marcus Power swooped for a hat-trick and Gareth Cullimore also netted.

Barry Town indicated that they will be strong challengers for the crown as they beat visiting Monmouth Town 2-0 trough goals by Lee Baldock and Lareem Leigh.
