Anti-fascist demo after thugs storm city mosque

-

ANTI-FASCIST protesters turned out to demonstrate after Britain First thugs stormed a mosque.

Three members of the farright group were filmed walking in to Cardiff’s Al Manar mosque, where they demanded to see controversial preacher Ali Hammuda. He hit the headlines when an audio clip emerged in which he appeared to say it was “permissible to have relations with a woman who is your slave or your wife”.

He has since said this was taken out of context.

“These small groups are dangerous because they are made up of isolated individuals who are a hardcore of neo-Nazis and fascists,” Joe Redmond, of Stand Up to Racism Cardiff, said.

The men, two with shaven heads and one wearing a black flat cap, walked in to the mosque filming with their phones. Footage was then posted on YouTube.

“Their narrow views are not going to be accepted because we accept diversity,” Mr Redmond said.

“They are targeting Muslims but we stand side by side with the mosque.

“They should have the right to practise without being invaded by thugs.

“We are having a demo to show support for that mosque and the Muslims of Cardiff.”

Marianne Owens, who sits on the national executive committee of the PCS union, said: “We are here today because our brothers and sisters in the mosque around the corner were terrorised by Britain First.”
