JULIEN Macdonald made a dazzling return to London Fashion Week yesterday – and the front row was almost as eye-catching as the outfits.

A string of household names turned out to see the Merthyrborn star’s spring/summer 2017 collection, which featured showstealing appearances by highprofile model Hailey Baldwin as she opened and closed the runway.

Olympian Tom Daley was among the big names at the launch, in a leisure centre, and sported a casual raspberry- coloured T-shirt along with grey suit trousers and black trainers for the occasion.

The 22-year-old sat next to Britain’s Next Top Model runnerup Abbey Clancy, 30, who was in a silver mini-dress, while TV and radio presenter Fearne Cotton also wowed in a little black dress.

Fashion designer Macdonald, who emerged beaming to bow at the end of the event, mixed contemporary and vintage looks with his extravagant new collec- tion, which featured everything from huge shoulder pads to modern metals – and plenty of tassels.

Several outfits featured elaborate cutaway designs while silks, beading and net were also showcased. A presentation of men’s clothing nodded to a western influence with male models walking the runway in cowboy hats and studded waistcoats.

Jasper Conran and Emilia Wickstead were among designers exhibiting their latest collections as London Fashion Week, which began on Thursday, continued.
