How they rated

- BY PHIL SMITH

BEN AMOS

7 Looks a calm head. Made some smart stops and his distribution was a big plus. Likely to be Cardiff’s number one moving forward.

LEE PELTIER

6 Typically unfussy performance back in his natural full-back position. Never shirks a challenge and was tidy in possession.

SEAN MORRISON

6 Was unlucky not to open the scoring with a very good header in the first half. A decent performance at the back and stood up well to Wood’s physical presence.

MATTHEW CONNOLLY

Looked much more like his old self in possession and 5 made some vital blocks. May feel Jansson was pulling his shirt for penalty incident but shouldn’t be getting involved in that kind of incident with the new rules in place.

JAZZ RICHARDS

A very assured display, faultless in defence and dealing 7 with the quick Hadi Sacko well. Delivered some nice crosses and looked at ease back in an orthodox full-back role.

PETER WHITTINGHAM

Made a bad error to let Leeds counter but recovered 6 brilliantly to stop Wood turning it into a goal. His setpieces remain Cardiff’s best prospect of scoring. For that alone Trollope can probably ill afford to leave him out again.

JOE RALLS

5 Is not replicating the consistency he showed last season. Energetic here and hassled Leeds’ in possession. Needs to give more on the ball, however.

ARON GUNNARSSON

7 Has stood up in recent week as the leader of the pack on the pitch. This was again a robust and lively midfield showing. Will likely wonder how he has ended up on the losing side four times in a row.

ANTHONY PILKINGTON

Showed some promising touches but was isolated on the 6 left flank for much of the game. Is plugging numerous gaps for Cardiff which is perhaps affecting the consistency of his performances.

CRAIG NOONE

6 Outstanding industry and in the early stages at least added real attacking thrust for Cardiff. End product was missing, however, and he faded as the game went on.
