1A NIGHT TO REMEMBER (1958) LONG before Leo and Kate had their romantic liaison on the doomed liner, this black and white British drama told the story of the last hours of RMS Titanic.

2KRAKATOA, EAST OF JAVA (1969) THE story was loosely based on events surroundin­g the 1883 eruption of the volcano on the island of Krakatoa. Unfortunat­ely for the film-makers Krakatoa is actually west of Java.

3ALIVE (1993) IN 1972 a Uruguayan rugby team were left stranded in the Andes Mountains after their plane crashed. When all food supplies run out, the survivors see no other option but to eat one of their recently deceased teammates or perish themselves.
