WELSH singing legend Bonnie Tyler is set to join forces with a country-music dynasty for a new album, which she will start recording this December.

The Skewen-born singer will be making new music with John Carter Cash, the son of music legends, Johnny Cash and wife June Carter.

The 65 year-old shared the news with German newspaper Berliner Morgenpost, ahead of her upcoming sell-out tour there, she said: “In December I fly to Nashville, and take on the new album. (It’s a) country-rock album with John Carter Cash.

“I have some fantastic new songs and I’m really looking forward to it.”

Her last visit to Nashville resulted in the release of Rocks and Honey in 2013, which contains her Eurovision song Believe in Me.

Tyler, who lives with her husband Robert Sullivan in Portugal, shot to fame in the 1970s with It’s a Heartache, but it wasn’t until her rock phase of the 1980s which propelled the singer into global consciousness.

Her track Total Eclipse of the Heart – written by Jim Steinman – was a number one hit around the world, scoring gold and platinum in UK, the US, Canada and France.

She regularly performs in venues all across the world and Tyler told the German paper: “I’m a different person when I’m on stage. The adrenalin, the audience and the music intoxicate me. It’s wonderful when you can share music. I live the best of b o t h worlds.”
