SECOND-HALF tries from Matthew Jones and Rhodri Usher saw leaders Pontypool battle back from behind to run out 18-13 winners at Narberth in their top-of-the-table clash in the National Championsh­ip.

Jake Simm scored a first-half try for Narberth, who led 10-6 at the turnaround, with Nick Gale booting their other points but they ultimately had to make do with a losing bonus point.

Pooler as a result of this, their 12th win out of 12, have extended their lead at the top over Narberth to 12 points.

Third-placed Tata Steel bounced back from their loss at Narberth last time out with 29-15 bonus-point win at fourth-placed Beddau to move a point behind the secondplac­ed side.

David Edwards, Lewis Evans, Jacob Williams and Bleddyn Davies got the Tata tries with Jack O’Reilly booting three conversion­s and a penalty.

Meurig Davies, Tyler Wells and Callum Wheeler scored three unconverte­d Beddau tries in reply.

Newbridge moved off the bottom of the table after putting in a fivestar performanc­e to see off Dunvant 33-10 – who slip to the bottom now as a result.

Stuart Vokes, Garyn Lucas, Mike Powell, Richard Powell and Tom Watkins scored the tries for Newbridge with Simon Veall converting four of them.

Mark Robbins and Mitchell Ford replied for Dunvant.

Cardiff Met are second bottom after they lost narrowly 34-32 at home against Newcastle Emlyn, although did take two bonus points.

Llyr Jones was at the double for the West Walians, with Daniel Havard and Brynmoor Jones also on the scoresheet for Emlyn with Daniel Davies kicking four conversion­s and a penalty while Barry Thomas also chipped in with a penalty.

The Students’ tries came from Alex Dombrandt, Luke Northmore, Ashley Taylor and James Hall with Alex Seers booting their other points.

Elsewhere, fifth-placed Bedlinog won 20-16 at Glamorgan Wanderers with Luke Morgan and Tom Hiscock their try scorers, while a try from Matthew Billet

and 14 points from the boot of Anthony Buselli helped Skewen to a 19-10 win at Glynneath.

In One East, leaders Rhydyfelin racked up 12 tries in a thumping 65-0 home win over Senghenydd.

Lewis Smith scored a hat-trick, with Chris Phillips and Lewis scor- ing twice while Chris Tottle, Jordan Rees, Josh Hawkins, Ross Lucas and Rhys Phillips were also on the scoresheet with Lucas also booting a conversion and a penalty.

Aberavon Quins remain top of One West Central thanks to a 21-16 home win over Kenfig Hill.

Rory Hinchcliff­e and Foard Cooksley were the Quins’ try scorers with Mark Shepherd kicking a conversion and three penalties.

One East Central table toppers Treorchy were held to a 11-11 draw at home by second bottom Rumney – with Jacob Lloyd scoring a try in the final minute to snatch a share of the spoils for the hosts.

Treorchy lead Mountain Ash by six points having also played a game more while the chasing side were 33-5 bonus-point winners at Llanharan.

Ross Davies (2), Kieran Davies and David Richards were the Mountain Ash scorers.

One North leaders Nant Conwy scored seven tries in a 43-0 win at Colwyn Bay, with skipper Carwyn Ellis leading the way with a brace.

In One West, leaders Kidwelly had their game at Llangennec­h postponed which allowed Llanelli Wanderers to close the gap to a point with a 36-23 win at Whitland.

Rhydian Morgan and Robert Hughes both bagged braces for the Wanderers.
