SWANS FANS TURN ON CHIEF JENKINS

SWANSEA City’s season reached a new crisis point last night as fans turned on chairman Huw Jenkins during the 5-0 humiliation against Tottenham Hotspur.

The travelling supporters chanted “we want Jenkins out” as the Swans’ inept performance saw them plummet to the bottom of the Premier League.

Manager Bob Bradley admitted the display simply wasn’t good enough but he insisted he can still turn things around ahead of a critical run of fixtures before the new year.

Braces for Harry Kane and Chris- tian Erikson, plus a goal from Son Heung-min, put the Swans to the sword as relegation rivals Sunderland and Crystal Palace both won.

The result places former US boss Bradley under scrutiny having picked up just five points from his first seven games and – most worryingly – conceding 19 goals along the way.

But Bradley was adamant he can still make progress with the team as they face up to another huge sur- vival clash at the Liberty with Sunderland due in South Wales next weekend.

Asked whether he was still confident he can push this side away from danger, Bradley said: “Yes, I’m still confident. I think we have made progress, but it’s up to us to prove that. This game speaks for itself, we weren’t good enough.

“But I will absolutely expect us to learn from this. We still have some confidence from the last few matches and we must take that into the Sunderland game which is the start of a lot of important matches for us. We knew this would be a difficult game for us but the manner in which it went makes us feel frustrated and angry – but we know there’s a lot to play for.”

Swansea face games with Sunderland, West Brom, Middlesbrough, West Ham and Bournemouth in the coming weeks during a period that will define their season.

But Bradley insisted he is not about to lose all hope on the back of this, adding: “We all know to get where we need to go we can’t concede the number of goals we have and that’s that. We were second best here and we have a lot to target to get better, but we have important games ahead of us to focus on.”
