WELSH League Division One leaders Goytre suffered a shock 2-1 defeat at Cwmbran Celtic but remain at the summit.

Andrew Larkham and Owen Cook were on target for the hosts as Celtic held out for a memorable victory, Callum Miles replying for Goytre.

Following last week’s Welsh Cup triumph over Welsh Premier giants Airbus UK, Penybont came back down to earth with a bump as they were hammered 5-1 at Caerau Ely who are now hot on Goytre’s trail.

The Cardiff based hosts had a hat-trick hero in Curtis Hutson, last season’s top goal scorer, who tormented the Penybont defence, with Rameer Outlaw and Jamal Roberts also on target for the rampant home side.

In the big Port Talbot derby, Afan Lido missed the chance to challenge for the leadership as they went down 1-0 to big local rivals Port Talbot Town, Jonathan Hood netting the all-important goal after just six minutes.

A first half strike from Rhys Dalling was enough to give Haverfordwest County a 1-0 win over visitors Cambrian & Clydach while goals from Dan Clare, Michael Murphy and Joseph Evans led Taffs Well to a convincing 3-0 victory over Monmouth Town.

In the only other game played in division one Caldicot Town and Risca United drew 1-1 as the scheduled game between Goytre United and Barry Town United was postponed.

Division Two leaders Llanelli Town were held to a 2-2 by Pontypridd Town at Stebonheath Park. Jordan Davies and Lee Trundle had the Reds in the driving seat but James Hill pulled one back and Matthew Hibbs hit the equaliser nine minutes from time.
