BRADLEY DEFIANT AS SWANSEA FANS VENT THEIR ANGER

b OB BRADLEY last night insisted he will not back down amid calls for his head following Swansea City’s latest heavy defeat.

Bradley’s Swans followed their midweek hammering at West Brom by crashing 3-0 to relegation rivals Middlesbrough at The Riverside.

The result saw the Swans dip to 19th, only above rock-bottom Hull on goal difference, and facing the real prospect of losing their top flight status in 2017.

Worryingly for Bradley, this setback saw angry Swans fans turn on him, with travelling supporters joining in with teasing Middlesbrough chants of “You’re getting sacked in the morning.”

However, Bradley says he won’t give up fighting and still believes he can turn Swansea’s form around, citing the importance of back-to-back home fixtures with West Ham and Bournemouth after Christmas and the possibility of much-needed new signings in the January transfer window.

Asked about the calls for his head and the pressure he is under, Bradley replied: “I already have pressure on myself to see if we can make the team stronger, fight for points every week and I will continue to do that. “I go in motivated every day, I like this group of players, I love the football club. It’s a challenge and I knew what I was getting into so I’m not backing down.” On whether he still has confidence of pulling Swansea clear of relegation, Bradley went on: “That’s the challenge, that’s my job. When a team has put itself in a tough spot everyone has to stick together in the toughest time and fight the fight.” The 58-yearold insisted that Swansea’s home form will be key, and maintained he will be focusing on the Boxing Day clash with West Ham and the New Year’s Eve visit of Bournemouth before aims to push on with spending plans in January.

“Winning home matches in this whole battle is going to be really key,” he said.

“It’s a frustration we can’t replicate what we have done at home when we go away.

“We said many times we certainly think we can improve ourselves in January, but we have two home games that are important before then. Then January 3 comes quickly and we’ve talked about the possibility of improving in every area and that has not changed.”
