WELSH LEAGUE Division One leaders Goytre moved five points clear at the top following a comfortabl­e 4-1 victory over Caldicot Town.

Dan McDonald completed a hat-trick for Goytre with Sam O’Sullivan also on target and Tony Wallace replying for the visitors as second placed Caerau Ely went down 3-1 at Monmouth Town.

Penybont are now in sixth place following a fine 4-1 triumph over Ton Pentre, Adam Carpenter netting a double for the hosts with Joe Hopkins and Kane Owen also on target. Sam Small got a consolatio­n for the Rhondda visitors.

Former Welsh Premier giants Port Talbot Town had a good day, beating Cwmbran Celtic 3-0 thanks to a brace from Luke Bowen and another from Jandir Zola.

Goytre United cruised to a 4-0 win at Risca United with Nicholas Haydn bagging a brace and Adam Orme and Tim Hicks also on target.

Strikes from Drew Fahiya and Ryan Evans were enough to give Barry Town United a 2-1 success at Undy Athletic who replied through James Barnes.

Meanwhile, there were no goals in the game between Haverfordw­est County and Taffs Well while Cambrian & Clydach and Afan Lido shared in a 1-1 stalemate, Richard French netting for the Rhondda hosts with a Jordan Edwards spot kick earning Lido a point.

Division two leaders Llanelli Town shared in a 5-5 thriller at Cwmamman United. Ashley Curtis netted twice for the hosts with Gareth Howarth, Ryan Thomas and Jordan Vickers also on target while the prolific Lee Trundle scored two second half penalties for the Reds with Luke Jones, Harrison Davies and Richard Lewis also netting.

AFC Porth closed the gap to three points with a 2-1 victory at Pontardawe Town, Ben Ahmun scoring both goals with Danny Williams netting for the home side.

Meanwhile, division three leaders Caerau crashed 3-2 at Tredegar Town, James Price scoring twice with Ian Petit also on target.
