4 ALIEN (1979)
The crew of the USCSS Nostromo are woken from stasis when their ship picks up a distress beacon from a nearby moon. Unfortunately for Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) and co. answering the call opens up a world of problems...
5 EVENT HORIZON (1997)
Members of a rescue team are kept in stasis pods on their way to investigate a spaceship that disappeared into a black hole and has now returned with someone or something new on board. With Sam Neill and Laurence Fishburne. cinema and observation deck – which all made for an interesting time on set.
“Everything was beautiful and interesting,” recalls Jennifer. “It was a different atmosphere for a movie.”
There’s also a swimming pool, which Aurora is doing a few laps in when the ship’s gravity fails. Although no stranger to action sequences, The Hunger Games star describes the scene as “probably the hardest thing I’ve ever shot”.
“Spending that much time in a pool, water up my nose, everywhere... But it was amazing – when I saw the CG example of what it was going to look like, I was really excited. I’ve never seen anything like that in a movie,” she reveals.
There’s also a scene which sees the two of them take part in a dance-off, something Jennifer found almost as uncomfortable to shoot – but for very different reasons.
“Oh, Jen loves to dance,” Chris teases.
“I’m doing a ballerina movie next and I was just on the phone with the director yesterday,” reveals Jennifer.
“They asked, ‘How’s dance lessons going?’ I was like, ‘I can’t! I don’t know if you understand what’s happening! I don’t think you get it’.” Wh While Jennifer battled wit with showcasing h her best moves on s screen, Chris didn’t s share her feeling of d discomfort. Nor did h he have any qualms a about stripping off.
“Oh yeah, my bo bottom, you see it a c couple times in this mo movie,” he admits, grinning.i i
“I felt fine about it. I wasn’t fully naked, because they give you something to cover yourself.”
“It’s a sock,” whispers Jennifer, before changing her choice of description to “sack”, and the pair of them double up with laughter.
“Yeah they give you like a ‘sack sock’,” continues Chris, once they’ve calmed themselves.
“Come for the nudity!” he quips. “Come for the sack. Stay for the action!”

6 MOON (2009)
