How they rated
LUKASZ FABIANSKI
Didn’t look like saving any of Boro’s goals, mainly because his defence gave him no chance to. As the third went in, he turned and walked away in disgust. He had every right to.
ANGEL RANGEL
Brought in for experience and ability to link play to midfield but struggled as all others to show that side and was defensively exposed. 4
ALFIE MAWSON
The best of a bad bunch, putting a bit of bravery into things but left exposed as defence was pulled all over park. 5
JORDI AMAT
Inexcusable lack of marking for the first, unforgivable attempt at a so-called tackle that gave the penalty for the second. Lucky to have played 90 minutes.
NEIL TAYLOR
Suffered trying to cover others around him but didn’t cover himself in glory either as defence capitulated.
JAY FULTON
Started with good pressing intent and used the ball well under pressure but crumbled with others when they game went away from the visitors.
MODOU BARROW
Looked like he was ready to have a field day against Fabio but then barely made an impact after that as Swansea began to go long and he made way. 5
GYLFI SIGURDSSON
Displayed an uncharacteristically awful touch that undermined too many attacks and the loss of possession that created the counter for the first goal. Even the set-piece was off.
WAYNE ROUTLEDGE
It’s becoming tiresome even pointing out the lack of quality in his final ball that stops any hope of making more of attacks down his side.
FERNANDO LLORENTE
Displayed promise with good touch and movement in positive opening spell but ultimately managed one effort on goal and faded as fitness went.
